Required by local code or Insurance so we cannot make any exceptions

  • No Smoking, candles or flame is allowed anywhere in the Inn.

  • No children under 12 are allowed. Children 12 to 15 can stay in the Summer Kitchen Cottage. Children 16 or older have no restrictions if staying with a parent or guardian

  • No pets.

  • All rooms are double occupancy for adults, some can accommodate a child in addition .

General Policies on Stays, Deposits and Cancellations

By booking you acknowledge acceptance of all policies on No children except where allowed, No smoking, No pets, and all other policies here.

  • All Gift Certificates issued before June 1, 2020 will expire on May 30, 2022 and will have no value after that date.

  • If you cancel with less than one week prior to arrival, two week prior for peak season, holidays and events, you are responsible for the entire room amount unless the room rebooks.

  • We do not take cancellations by phone. You must cancel (one/two weeks, by policy above) in advance by email and get a cancellation number by return email to have your reservation considered cancelled

  • No refunds are given for early departures or no shows. You will be charged the full amount for your stay

  • No shows without a cancellation number are charged the full amount for their stay.

Other Policies

  • The Transient Lodging Code of Virginia and all policies apply to all guests regardless of method of booking or method of payment.

  • Damages, smoking fees, and any other fees, if any, will be charged to your card on file and are for the actual cost of remediating the situation or damages.

  • There is one parking space available for each room. Guests bringing more than one vehicle should contact the Inn to verify we have space for the additional vehicle.

  • All single night stays on weekends are subject to an additional $30 cleaning fee.

  • Full policies, including the applicable Virginia Transient Lodging Code, Fire Code, Landmark Commission and Insurance Policy mandated restrictions will be emailed upon request.

Special Terms for Charitable and Non-refundable Cancellation Gift Certificates:

  • EFFECTIVE FOR ALL STAYS AFTER APRIL 1, 2020 USING A CHARITABLE GIFT CERTIFICATE. Charitable gift certificates, those donated to organizations for resale or those that the Inn did not get any financial return when created, ARE subject to blackout dates.

  • Cancellation Gift Certificates have no cash value, and can only be used for the same number of nights as the original stay and will be booked at the current rates, not the rate of the original stay. Exceptions may be made to the policy on a limited case by case basis.

  • Charitable Gift certificates cannot be used with any other special promotion or discounts.

  • Only one charitable gift certificate can be used per day of stay and if only partially redeemed with have no remaining value.

  • If issued after June 1, 2020 all Gift Certificates expire one year from the ISSUE date. If you have received a Charitable Gift Certificate please note the expiration date, it is the date the certificate was created for the organization, NOT when you donated to the organization.

  • If issued prior to June 1, 2020 your gift certificate expired on May 30th, 2022
